Stop Motion Blending

by Jon Black

Nice use of stop motion and frame blending in After Effects. Technically it’s not that hard to achieve, the real skill is in the subject you choose to photograph.

  1. Take a series of still images
  2. Import image sequence into AE
  3. Using motion stabilisation if the images are not aligned
  4. Layer > Frame Blending > Pixel Motion
  5. Lengthen the sequence with time stretch
